Welcoming New Staff

With the new school year drawing ever closer we have some new staff joining our Mecca Glen team.  we have added one new teacher and three new EA positions.  Each of the following EA positions has been financially supported through Jordan's Principle who provides funding to support First Nation Students.

Teaching Position

The first introduction is of a familar face but someon in a new role,  Ms. Kenzie Robinson will be our new Junior High Humanities teacher.  Ms. Robinson first took a position as an EA at Mecca Glen a few years ago and has since gone and earned her teaching degree.   After earning her degree she worked as a substitute teacher in the division, as well was a part time EA at Mecca Glen.  We are excited for the energy, passion Ms. Robinson brings to our team.

Educational Assistants

We also have three new Educational Assistants joining us this year.   Ms. Jaime Hobson will be working in Kindergarten on Tuesdays and Thursdays.  Ms. Hobson has worked as an EA prior to coming to Mecca and had glowing references and we are excited to add her to our staff.

Mrs. Dav Hawiuk completes our Kindergarten EA team,  although this will be her first job in a school and I am confident she is the right person for the job.  Mrs. Hawiuk  absolutely radiates positive energy and no doubt willmathc the students energy level.

Lastly in the Grade 2/3 classroom we have Mrs. Kira Holm.  Mrs. Holm recently moved with her family from BC into the Mecca Glen area with her family.   Mrs. Holm has worked as an Educational Assistant previously and her passion for helping students shone through in the conversations we have had.  Mrs. Holm will be in working in Mrs. Nickerson's classroom during the 04/05 school year.
